Seasons Greetings

I’ll admit it.  This year Christmas has been weird and has snuck up on me.  Last night for a mere two dollars we were able to purchase a pretty little tree.  I am still looking for ornaments small enough to put on it.

I’m the type of person that likes all the parts of the holiday that don’t have to do with presents.  Things like movies, cookies, seasonal beers, Advent, time with family and friends and everything else I associate with Christmas.  This year is different.  Here it is 88 degrees and it’s another beautiful day in the Phrao valley and I am thankful for the direction that my life has taken and the work that we are doing.  But it would be dishonest to say that I don’t miss friends and family this time of year and all the little things that don’t cost money that make Christmas season so much fun.

I am glad that I miss things because it is a reminder that they are good and worth missing.  Merry Christmas to everyone in whichever way you celebrate it.

Blessings from Reedley. Loved your perspective. However, I am still not up to doing things & I really miss the “preperations” like baking peppernuts, sending cards etc. Just being together is the main thing——-which we will be doing on the evening of the 26th.
